we are given

[tex] \sqrt{-100}  [/tex]

we know that

[tex] -1=i^2  [/tex]

now, we can replace -1

[tex] \sqrt{-100} =\sqrt{-1*100} [/tex]

[tex] \sqrt{-100} =\sqrt{i^2*100} [/tex]

[tex] \sqrt{-100} =\sqrt{i^2}*\sqrt{100} [/tex]

[tex] \sqrt{-100} =10i [/tex]

we can add 0

it does not affect

so, we get

[tex] \sqrt{-100} =0+10i [/tex]..............Answer
