What would make the sky always appears black??

if there is no atmosphere on the planet or the heavenly body on which we are the observers, then there would be no scattering of the sun's light and hence, the sky would aappear black. For example, if we are on the moon, the sky appears black ,unlike on earth(where it appears blue) because there is no atmosphere on moon.
